Completed Roofing Projects

Tridek Contemporary Roofing has recently completed a major primary school project using the new “Smart Series” panel.

The panel was used as a self supporting integrated roof system on a new Auditorium at St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School, in Frankston Victoria.

The “Smart Series” panel provided the project with significant benefits such as;

• Structural long span panels, which simplified the roof structure and significantly reduced structural steel costs.
• Produced a platform from which a bulkhead section of suspended ceiling could be placed.
• Speed of installation helped reduce the overall construction period, providing early weather protection enabling work to proceed unhindered.

The high insulation value of the panel provided a cool environment during this summer (2009/10) with a maximum temperature of 28° in the building with no air-conditioning being used for the entire summer. Heating this winter has been used only 3 or 4 times with only 1 of the 4 heating units being operated, and then only for an hour or so. Providing a very energy efficient and comfortable environment.

The internal comfort and high energy efficiency of the roof panel system has resulted in the building not requiring artificial air conditioning and only minimal heating on the coldest days. Running costs of the building are estimated at approximately 75% less than other school structures.

Good internal acoustics are helped by the corrugated panel profile.

The Tridek “Smart Series” used on this project greatly contributed to the project’s success, by way of reduced structural steel materials, quick on site installation, enabling rapid follow on of other trades and the minimisation of use of finishing trades, such as plasterers and painters, and subsequent equipment hire cost savings.

Smart Series panels are produced in a range of core thicknesses from 125mm to 200mm producing thermal values from R 3.50 up to R 5.00. With a cover of 700mm, the panels have provision at each join for services. Being colorbond, panels are virtually maintenance free.

Tridek can be manufactured in most colours from the standard Colorbond range, and colours can be mixed and matched.
