Which modern roofing material is right for your home design?

Stainless steel Roofing

Usually comes roll-formed, however shingles are also made. Stainless steel is most commonly used for harsher conditions as it is extremely durable and can protect itself against corrosion because it is comprised of chromium which reacts to oxygen/water to form an invisible protective film. Stainless steel roofing is a very expensive roofing system.

Asphalt shingles

Are inexpensive and easy to repair; however will only last 15-30 years and are subject to mildew and moss.

Wood shingles

Can last up to 30-50 years, are easy to repair and replace but can be expensive and require a lot of maintenance.

Are expensive and very heavy, but are easy to maintain, and when maintained they are very durable.
