RE: TRIDEK ‘SMART’ SERIES ROOFING PANELS

We have recently specified and used Tridek ‘Smart’ series insulated panels as a self-supporting integrated roof system on a new hall at St. Augustine’s Catholic Primary School in Frankston, Victoria.

We suggested that Tridek substitute a ‘Smartspan’ steel cladding profile for its standard corrugated profile on its panels to provide greater spans & the desired appearance. We were impressed with Tridek’s service and speed in developing the ‘Smart’ series panel to enable its use on this project.

‘Smart’ series provided this project with significant benefits such as:

  • Long panel spans & self-bracing that greatly simplified the roof structure and reduced structural steel costs;
  • The building form that resulted from the flexibility of the panels to conform to various design requirements;
  • The speed of erection that helped reduce the overall construction period and provided early weather protection of construction area to enable work to proceed unhindered. The high insulation value of the panels also enabled work to continue during hot period, by providing a moderate mid 20oC work zone on 40oC days;
  • The internal thermal comfort and high-energy efficiency of the building that was helped by the high thermal insulation value of the panels. This building will not require artificial air-conditioning and has required only minimal heating during the current Melbourne winter;
  • Good internal acoustics helped by the corrugated panel soffit profile;
  • Impressive internal & external appearance of the building.

We clearly conclude that the ‘Smart‘ series panels used on this project greatly contributed to the project’s success, and have exceeded our original expectations.

We would not hesitate to recommend Tridek for future projects.
